Today in the union tribune, I read that a man named Okhwan Yoon has been traveling the world for seven years and on Saturday he made it to San Diego. He is from south Korea and he said sitting at home one day watching the news and he realized that all the violence, corruption, suicide and other bad things going on in the world and he asked himself why is this going on in the world so he decided he wanted to travel the world on his bike. As he made it to different parts of the world he was robbed, stuck up, and almost killed more than three times. When he was in Africa he said people would travel mile to get water to their villages because you need water to make food and other stuff. He said when he would asked for water they would gladly give it to you with a smile. When he would sleep he would go to children hostels, hotels and he even slept under a bench in downtown. He still plans on traveling for three more years because his goal is to travel to 195 countries and so far he has traveled 169.
I think this guy is hero to some people because to most people they would think why are you doing that its pointless. To him he just wants to see what's wrong with the world, why all of this is happening.
In today's newspaper I read about more violence due to drug gangs struggle for power. In Tijuana yesterday there was a funeral arranged for a government official who died when state police raided a house in Tijuana believed to belong to one of the drug distributor for one of the drug cartels fighting for power. During the raid, Angel Guadalupe Aguilar Villatoro, was shot with one of the gunmen's high powered weaponry. Along with high powered rifles they discovered a large Barrett sniper rifle. The total number of dead were six including a dead body found in a large cooler. The members of the drug cartels left alive confessed they worked for a man named “El Tio” a nick name for Theodora Garcia Simental.
What I read in the San Diego Union Tribune of October 17,2008 was that a woman, by the name of Brytssa Gastelum Arguello, gave a date rape drug to her three year old daughter. She was arrested on May 4 by the National City police after she took her daughter to the hospital. I can verify that the girl was suffering from a drug overdose. She had drank water that contained the drug GHB,gamma hydroxybutyric acid. Brytssa was sentenced this week. She has to spend 1 year in jail and 4 years on probation. She was ordered to stay away from her daughter. Her daughter is now living with her father in Tijuana. The woman explained to the police officers of what had happened. The sequence of how she explained it was that she was smoking at a friends house that’s located in National City. Her daughter had suddenly asked for some water.Arguello’s friend gave her a bottle of water and then she handed it to her daughter. When the girl drank the liquid she began to vomit and lose consciousness.
Today what I learned in the Union tribune was that their was about 120 deaths in the past 3 weeks in Tijuana. There’s been so many deaths lately and all of them are because the drug cartels. Authorites had verified a suspect captured wensday night raid confessed to working for “El teo”. That’s the nickname for Tenodora Garcia simental, a powerful crew leader who was has been challenging the arellanos current leader Fernando Sanchez known as “ El Ingeniero”. The Mexican police had to simplify and are trying there hardest to stop all of these murders. The sequence on the newspaper in TJ is that everybody belives that the millitary are the only ones who colud fix this whole drug cartels.
police are mourning the loss of a fellow officer who was killed in the war in Afghanistan. the san Diego police department learned of the death yesterday, police spokeswoman Monica Munoz said. the officer name was Federico borjas, 33, was a reservist who was a reservist who was called to duty in august. the department hired him in 1999, and he most recently served as a patrol officer in the central divisions. the u.s. department of defense did not release details of borjas death. the flag in front of police department headquarters flew at half- staff yesterday.
Today in the news paper I read…about how there was between 18-30 people wounded and killed. It happened yesterday. A rocket killed one person and wounded five people. The location was at Lashkar Gah, Afghanistan. I think they should find out who is doing it. And why the are doing this.
The article I read this morning was about the death of a Mexican soldier. The soldier was identified as Angel Guadalupe Aguilar Villatoro, he was 27 years old. Angel was the first soldier killed by the drug cartel gangs. Angel was from the 5th special Forces Battalion. He was from Tapachula, Chiapas. According to what I read Angel was shot to death on Wednesday during a confrontation with the cartel gang members. He and his unit raided a residence and were met with gunfire. The ceremony was held at the park in Tijuana called Parque Morelos.
I believe that this man died doing something he liked and something really good. He died protecting his country and if he was in the Mexican army he knew he was risking his life. I really do hope that all this cartel violence ends soon because it is really affecting a lot people.
An interesting fact that I read in the article was that Angel was 1 of 5 people that died during that confrontation and they even found a sixth body in that residence.

Today I read in the union tribune about a military soldier got shot to death by the one of the drug cartels in Tijuana. The commander said for the sacrifice that he did they will not step back wards in this drug fight. They will continue this war till they end it. The commander it has a very powerful plan to get the drug cartels to stop the war. Reflection – I think its going to take the military a lot of gun power and a lot of courage to stop this war.
