In today’s union tribune I read about a community project in Old Town National City. The plan is to create a park in the neighborhood. The empty space is located in between the streets of 18th and 20th. The effort to build a park there has been the talk for about five years. The park will have new Eco-friendly benched made of recycled materials. The grass will be watered daily with water systems paid for by the city. A child care will is being discussed and community room for people of all ages.

In today's newspaper for October 23rd, I read that a federal judge is banning Mongol motorcycle gang from wearing or distributing their logo. The judge started this banning since yesterday. The Mongols are restricted from wearing their logos, because many members had been arrested. Gang members and their family members aren't allowed to wear, license, or sell their logos according to Judge Florence- Marie Cooper. I can factor out that this is a good thing to do, because it eliminates the public view of the Mongol motorcycle members which can or may influence young people of their gang.

**READ ME**
****Today I read about in the newspaper about, how 25 years from today there was a terrible killing that happened. About 241 American soldiers were killed by an suicide bomb. There was a truck full of TNT that killed all the Americans. Most of them were marines. Than a second blast happened a few minutes later that killed about 58 more western troops. After all this killing a few months, later the president took the soldiers out of there.
**I think that I don’t get what's the whole plot about this, and why its happening. They are just killing more and more soldiers that should deserve to live. And seeing more crying families. I don’t know what the factor abut this is.

In the morning paper their was a article about a tobacco shop being closed because it was selling drug paraphernalia. The type of stuff they were selling in their shop would be stuff like small pipes, cigarette papers and even synthetic urine so you can use it to pass your urine tests. They had randomly closed down in November were reopened in February.

Dozens of residents of Imperial beach felt that our community is not safe with contraband like that in our city. Today at 5:00 pm they are organizing a drug free rally on seacoast drive by the pier. This drug free rally was put together by the residents of Imperial beach. They feel if they have this rally our city of Imperial beach will be safe from all drugs in the imperial beach county. Well I hope it works to. Why? Because one day my kids will be playing on these streets, and I would not like my kids to be getting into stuff like that. I’ve been their and done that its not worth it at all. All it does to you is get you into a mess of trouble, or lead you to other drugs such as meth, coke, heroine & ETC. Because right now if you look at me I am going to a juvenile/community school. The reason why I go here is not because I got into drugs. But I look at the kids that go to these schools and most of them were either caught up with drugs and are still doing them. I look at them and they act weird in ways compared to my ways.

I feel this my be a turning point in the little city of Imperial Beach. Yes it’s a little change but a little change can go along ways.

Today in the union tribune I read that Daniel James, a UK rugby player has flown all the way to Switzerland to commit suicide and his parents may held accountable for helping him do it. Daniel James was only 23 but was paralyzed from the chest down in March 2007 when a rugby scrum collapsed on top of him during match practice dislocating his spine. He dislocated his C6/C7 vertebrae, trapping his spinal cord and becoming a tetraplegic in a split second. This means that Dan lost the complete use of his body from the chest down. He regained some use of his fingers but that was the extent of his recovery and it just wasn’t good enough for his.
I feel his pain because if you get hurt doing something you love and you get paralyzed doing it I understand killing yourself would be an option. If you think about it he probably felt like someone would have to take care of him the rest of his life and nobody wants that. He probably felt like he had no purpose in life and decided to end it as soon as he could. You can’t get in trouble for killing yourself.

Today I read about in the union tribune how the gap between wealthy and poor is growing wider. Economic inequality is growing in the worlds richest countries, particularly in the United States, Jeopardizing the American Dream of social mobility just as the world tilts toward recession. The gap between rich and poor has widened over the past 20 years in nearly all the countries studied, even as trade and technological advances have spurred rapid growth in their economies. The FACTOR of all this may be job losses and home skyrocketing and many of these countries facing recession. No VOICE knows what I the solution to all these problems. I wonder if the next president has a good PLOT.
Reflection- I think this is true and I think this world is going to be survival of the fittest.

The article I read this morning was about a the drug cartel gang violence that is going on in Tijuana. Yesterday night there was another shootout with the drug traffickers and police. The gun battle led to the death of an innocent 18 month old baby. The 18 month old baby was killed when his dad who was trying to drive away from the gun battle crashed into a truck. The baby who was sitting in his mothers lap suffered head injuries. The babies name was Rigo Alberto Acevedo Cerna. The father of the baby got off with his son in his arms after the crash and walked up to an officer and asked him for help. The officer simply said an ambulance should be on his way and walked away.
Wow, that is all I can say for this article. I can’t imagine how this family must feel losing a little one. Mexico especially Tijuana is turning into hell.
An interesting fact that I read in the article was that the officer didn’t even bother trying to help the man he simply just said that an ambulance was probably coming and walked away.

Today in the union tribune I read that a woman was attack because she believes that she was robbed because she was a John McCain supporter. She says she was at an atm and a black man put a knife to her throat and told her to give him the money. She gave him 60 dollars, then he punched her in the back of the head and said your going to be a Barack supporter. Then he cut a backwards capitol b in her face with a dull knife. McCain and Sarah Palin spoke to the victim and her family after learning about the incident earlier this afternoon. Barack Obama responded to the report with a statement saying, Our thoughts and prayers are with the young woman for her to make a speedy recovery, and we hope that the person who perpetrated this crime is swiftly apprehended and brought to justice.

The article I read this morning was about a suicide bomber that killed 241 American troops 25 years ago. The incident happened on October 23, 1983 in barracks. A suicide bomber steered a truck loaded with six tons of TNT. It happened down the airport in Beirut, Lebanon. He went up to the 4 story barracks where there was more than American troops. The FBI calls it the largest non-nuclear bomb in the whole history of the histories. The bomb killed 220 Marines corps. A second blast minutes later killed 58 more Western troops.
I did not know there was a suicide bomber that killed 241 American troops. I had no idea but I think that this is very interesting. I think that it is good to remember all those people that did so much for our country and for other countries to help out others.
An interesting fact that I read was that 241 American troops were killed that is a lot.

A Pennsylvania woman told police she was attacked at an ATM in Pittsburgh by a robber who became angry when he saw a John McCain bumper sticker on her car, a spokeswoman for the Pittsburgh Police Department said Thursday.

Police cannot confirm whether a man attacked this woman because she had a McCain sticker on her car.

Public Information Officer Diane Richard said police cannot substantiate her story, however, and the investigation is ongoing.

Richard said the 20-year-old told investigators a man approached her Wednesday night at an ATM in the city's East End, put a blade to her neck and demanded money.

She said she gave him $60 and stepped away from him, Richard said.

She further stated the man "punched her in the back of the head, knocking her to the ground, and he continued to punch and kick her while threatening to teach her a lesson for being a McCain supporter," according to a police statement.

The woman also told police her attacker "called her a lot of names and stated that 'You are going to be a Barack supporter,' at which time she states he sat on her chest, pinning both her hands down with his knees, and scratched into her face a backward letter 'B' on the right side of her face using what she believed to be a very dull knife."

The alleged assailant fled on foot, Richard said.

In the union tribune today I read about a very interesting story. 10 bodies were found Wednesday October 8, 2008 and no arrest have been made. The mayor said it is the federal governments responsibility to investigate and prosecute organized crime and he had not seen any action at all. In Baja California Gov. Jose Guadalupe Osuna Millian and president Felipe Calderon met with the Governor on Tuesday the 7th with the Governor later announcing the new operation aimed to all the violence going on. The operation might be some what similar to the operation in Tijuana. There sending even more soldiers to Tijuana they have sent 3,300 federal police officers and also soliders. Hopefully that’s calms alt of the violence down.
