Today I read about how a teen lives on threw a heart recipient. He was a healthy young boy who enjoyed weight lifting and computer games. She was a 61 year old woman with congestive heart failure. The fates of Robbie Courtney and Maria Flores intersected May 17, 2005 when Flores got Robbie's heart after he died in his sleep of a brain aneurysm. Robbie died without warning. Yesterday the Courtney’s met with Flores for the first time. Flores say’s that she likes doing things now that Robbie liked like playing video games and asparagus. The families talked for more than two hours.
Interesting Facts- at one point in the visit Robbie’s sister Christina asked if she could hear her heart and Debbie replied no “your heart”.
My Opinion- I INTERPRET that the Courtney’s were INVOLVED with helping this woman 100 PERCENT. I think that this story is very sad. I think that was a great thing what the Courtney’s did donating Robbie’s heart to help save someone else’s life and now they helped save Maria’s life and they got to meet her.

in today's news paper their was a 44 year old women that was found dead and her husband was hospitalized after a drug over dose. The couples were found at home at around 4:45 p.m. after a friend went to go check on them. The police found the wife dead in one room and her husband semiconscious in another part of the house. In other news half a dozen people at Kaiser foundation hospital building were exposed to white powdery substance yesterday and went to the emergency room as a precaution. The women in the mailroom who opened it was exposed to it had gotten some of the white powder stuff on her arm and she went to wash it off and she felt a burning sensation afterward.

According to today’s newspaper, Union Tribune summarizes how the teen boy who died meets the transplant patient. Robbie died in his sleep because of a brain aneurysm. Robbie was a healthy 15 year old boy. He enjoyed playing video games and lifting weights. The transplant patient is Maria Flores. She was a 61 year old with a congestive heart failure. She wants to live longer so she could watch her grandchildren grow. I guess the whole point in that was so the two families could meet. The Courtney’s and Flores met at Sharp Metropolitan Medical Campus in Serra Mesa in a small room, where Flores had her heart transplant. Flores asked if Robbie liked video games and asparagus. The Courtney’s then nodded yes. Flores didn’t used to like asparagus and she wasn’t hooked on video games. Ever since she got the transplant everything all changed. The sister of Robbie asked Flores if she could listen to her brothers heartbeat. The heartbeat brung a smile on her face knowing that heartbeat was her brothers.

In the San Diego Union Tribune today I read about how the border patrol caught a man wanted in Los Angeles for suspicion of murder, attempted murder, and attempt to commit extortion. The border got a sight of a group of five men at about 12:29 p.m. near Dulzura south of the border. Border patrol caught all five men and ran their name. All were sent back to Mexico except 41 year old Guadalupe Torres-Rangel who was turned in to the sheriffs department and is awaiting extortion. The police said he did this because he wanted to get involved with a local gang in L.A. He shot a man with a baby in his arms and killed them both.

The article I read this morning was about an officer who sued the city over a pageant activity. The activity made her lose her job. Deanna Mory who use to be a police officer for the Chula Vista department got fired last month. The reason she got fired was because her former fiancĂ© accused her of stealing a $17,000 engagement ring. She said she gave up the ring after they split. Since she got fired Deanna has been working as a security guard. She lost her job for that activity and she was giving permission to participate in it. Later another supervisor disagreed that’s what made her give it up but she refused.
I think that this woman has every right to participate in anything she wants. I think that the other supervisor was just jealous. Hopefully the cops will regret letting her go because she was a good person in and out of work.
An interesting fact that I read was that her ex fiancé accused her of stealing the ring.

Today I read in the Union Tribune about British Columbia a small plane crashed on a remote island off British Columbia’s southern coast yesterday, killing seven of the eight people on board. One survivor walked away, rescue officials said. The pilot was quite experienced said the passenger who as the only one alive. I think how will they let somebody have license to fly an plane if they are not ready for it. People make mistakes but people don't kill seven people one mistake. The fact is that the pilot was experienced how did he crashed was he drugged out or what.
Reflection- I wonder how it feels to be in a air plane crash.
