Today in the union tribune I read that Lancaster state police are looking for a woman who used rare and unusual coins to pay for cigarettes at a Turkey Hill. The woman used a 1964 silver half-dollar, a silver dime, four mercury dimes, three Indian head nickels, three other rare nickels, a wheat penny and three silver foreign coins. It is not a crime to use old coins such as the ones described in this article but Lancaster state police are suspected that the woman might have robbed someone for these coins and this explains the reason she would want to get rid of them.
I don’t think that this article should have been used in CNN because there was no crime committed. Just because a woman pays for some cigarettes with some old coins doesn’t mean she stole them maybe she is really old and has a lot more of those coins from her time. You wouldn’t ask an old man where he stole his half dollar if he had one.
What I read today in the Union Tribune was about Joseph Edward Duncan the third was sentenced to death in August. He torture and slay a family in Idaho. In 2005, Duncan kidnapped Dylan Groene, 9,and his sister Shasta, then 8, from their Coeur d’Alene home. He held them for weeks in western Montana, He tortured and sexually abused both children, he murder Dylan, Shasta was rescued after a few weeks. What I think is that that’s good he got sentenced to death what kind of psycho will do this kind of things to children not just that but kidnapping and raping. It gets me furious because just thinking about it makes me feel angry because what world do we live in that little kids can even feel safe.
What I read in today’s Union Tribune newspaper for November 4, 2008 was about a man who was sentenced, because he attacked a couple. On Sept 29, Jared Jacobson was found guilty with two counts of assault which he supposedly used a deadly weapon. Not only that but he was also convicted of allegations of using the knife. The previous event that happened was that the couple, Donald and Caroline Stewart were walking on Fourth Avenue and Washington Street around 10 am in the morning when suddenly Donald heard footsteps and saw a man push past him. After that Jared ran to the man’s wife, Caroline, and started stabbing her. Caroline got stabbed in her kidney and Donald got stabbed two times on his back and under his left arm. After the attack Jared then sat on a curb and watched the couples while they bled in pain. While he was watching them he suddenly began singing to himself then later told the police that the knife went in their bodies like it was butter. Jared wasn’t guilty but he was pleaded with insanity so he was then taken to a mental health facility.
The article I read this morning was about two more bodies that were found in T.J.. The death of two men’s who’s bodies were found yesterday are being investigated by authorities. The bodies were found near a water-utility tank early yesterday in Tijuana Mexico. After the bodies were found firefighters of Tijuana were called after two barrels of what authorities believe had acid and human remaining inside of them. They were found outside of a restaurant. Both of these incidents were found near the border of San Isidro. Firefighters took the three barrels to investigate. Authorities are also investigating the identities of the two bodies that were found.
I believe that Tijuana Mexico is getting out of control. I hope that all of this violence stops soon because it scares me. I’m afraid that anybody in my family can get kidnapped or killed at any minute.
An interesting fact that I read in the article was that the barrels seem to have acid and human remains inside of them.
Today in my current events I read about a wave of violence, and also an assassination attempt against a deputy oil minister. Yesterday parliament passed a bill that would grant the country’s embattled minorities fewer guaranteed seats in the upcoming elections than the united states . In the most lethal attack of the day ,six people were killed and 20 wounded when two roadside bombs exploded in quick succession in front of the headquarters of the Ministry of the Interior’s criminal investigations unit in Baghdad's central Karada district. The deadlier bomb was planted in front of the protective concrete wall ringing the government building.
