In today's paper there had been a article about the Tijuana police. About 500 Tijuana police are being to sent to a police academy just outside of tecate for a bout a month and before they come back to the force they were undergo extensive background checks. The Tijuana police are being replaced by federal agents, state police and military police. Those who seem unfit and looks like they wont do their job will be dropped from the department. Why are they just now cracking down on them now? Well obviously because they aren't doing their job. Their have been about 660 homicides since January 1. and lots of violence due to criminal groups fighting for control of drug trafficking routes. I think this MIGHT be a change for Tijuana. why? Because they haven't really done anything about it for a long time now and its about time someone is saying something or seeing something odd about TJ.
Today I read about the killers of two brothers get 80 years to life in prison. Two gang members convicted of murder in the fatal shooting of a pair of brother’s have been sentenced to 80 years to life in prison. A jury found Carlos Carrasco 20, and Jose Nogales 16, guilty of two counts of second degree murder, shooting at an inhabited residence and gang and gun use charges. Jose who was tried as an adult was also found guilty of a felon in possession of a gun. They were accused of killing John Perez 33, and Frank Perez 35.The brother’s were shot on July 8, 2007.
Interesting Facts- Carlos and Jose are both documented gang members from Paradise Hills.
My Opinion- I INTERPRET that the boys were that were INVOLVED were not in their right state of mind 100 PERCENT. I think that this is sad that those two brothers were killed but the life's of two other boys have been taken from them two. I think that that is a really long sentence for a boy who is 16 and for the guy who is 20.
Today in the newspaper I read about how a man was charge 15 to life for beating a guy that was a pro surfer. He pound him in the head and ad the surfer feel to the ground. Really hard that killed him. They just found out yesterday that he has life in prison for second degree murder, and battery. The guy he killed was killed on may 24 2007.. About a year ago. I think that’s sad. I feel bad for the victims family. I don’t know the whole entire story why and how it happened so I don’t want to be on anyone's side.
Today in the union tribune I read that in the case of Megan Meier, Tori Drew is charged with one count of conspiracy and three counts of accessing protected computers without authorization to obtain information to inflict emotional distress on Meier. committed suicide after the boy spurned her, at one point telling her the world would be a better place without her, according to prosecutors. At the time of her death, Meier's family and Drew's family were neighbors. This adult woman allegedly used the Internet to target a young teenage girl, with horrendous ramifications.
I think that this is a crude act acted upon a 13 year old girl and the law should be taken to the full extent. This should be taken seriously and should be acted on. This girl had a reason to kill herself, a woman who posed as a 16 year old boy was the cause of all this unhappiness.
In the San Diego Union Tribune I continued reading about the corruption in the city just south of the border. The Mexican government has temporary relieved the police officer in charge of patrolling the most deadliest parts of the city of Tijuana. The government has placed federal agents in the areas. The police officer have been sent back to training. During training with is run by the government as well the will go a extensive background check. The government doesn’t want anyone with a criminal record to be assisting the law get wrong doers. Officials believe they will be relieving 25 percent of the law enforcers.
In today’s Union Tribune newspaper for November 19, 2008, I read that a Hilltop house was destroyed by the blazing fire at El Cajon. The incident INVOLVED at least two residents leaving them injured. The fire had started in a bedroom-bathroom area in the two story house and then had spread to the brush. Not even several minutes firefighters INTERPRET that they needed more engines and personnel to fight the blazing fire. There were at least 60 firefighters fighting the fire and there were 15 fire engines. This was for If there was an emergency only like for example if the fire got out of control, they already have back up . I guess they didn’t want to have another wildfire like the one a few years ago. Three people were home at the time of the fire. There were two men and a women. The woman had suffered smoke inhalation that was minor and the men suffered burns on their arm. Instead of being taken to a hospital, they were treated right at the scene. Firefighters' are still investigating the cause of the fire. I think its sad that the owner lost their home. Especially when the home cost about $800,000. Well the most important thing is no one lost their lives during the fire.
Today in my morning blog I had read about a man accused of running down a bicyclist in Mira Mesa. He had also dragged the body more than 500 feet , he was ordered yesterday to stand trial on charges of voluntary and vehicular manslaughter Marcos Garcia was originally charged with murder with the death of Marcelo bolom the man was 23. San Diego superior court judge Fredric link said the EViDENCE didn’t support murder. He ordered Jeronimo to be tried on lesser charges. According to the testimony Blolom was riding a bike Aug 20th when he stopped in front of Jerimos car in a parking lot . He allegedly accelerated his Dodge neon , hitting Bolom and dragging the body and the bike 543 feet.
The article I read this morning was about a 20 year old guy by the name of Nathaniel Gann. Nathaniel is being charged with the death of his stepfather in 2007. Gann is being accused of firing four shots at his stepfather. His stepfather was identified as Timothy MacNeil. His sister is his accomplice in the killing. They tried to make it look like a robbery. The reason that authorities believe that it was Nathaniel who killed Timothy is because they found a skiing mask that the suspect was wearing with his DNA on it. The skiing mask was found in a nearby tree.
I think that this boy is crazy. I don’t understand why he killed his own stepdad what gave him the strength to do it as well. I hope that he as well as his sister admit to the crime soon.
An interesting fact that I read was that Nathaniel's defense attorney says that Nathaniel didn't kill Timothy MacNeil.
Today I read about the god father of basketball and life. The legend Pete Newell was an icon, loved by everyone. He touched everybody who has ever played basketball. He was a caring, loving, selfless man who was a coach of not just basketball but life. Pete Newell made you feel good about the game and he made you feel good about life. The outpouring of love for him today is a tribute both to him and his accomplishments and the accomplishments of all those he touched.
Reflection- it sucks when someone that influenced a lot of people and touched a lot of people is gone. I think that’s why god sent him to earth to influence a lot of people about basketball, love, and life.
