Today in cnn I read that Brooklyn teenager Chanel Petro-Nixon left her family home at 6:30 p.m. on Father's Day 2006, to walk to an Applebee's restaurant a few blocks away. She'd planned to meet friends there and fill out an application for a summer job at Applebee's. Friends say she never showed up. No one ever saw her alive again. Four days later, her body was found in another area of Brooklyn, several miles from her home. She'd been strangled and stuffed into a large garbage bag left to be collected with the morning trash on the sidewalk in front of a brownstone. Chanel went missing in broad daylight in an extremely busy area of Brooklyn. Family, police and community members are certain that someone must have seen something, but no witnesses have come forward.
What I read today in the Union Tribune was about Jeremias Bins guilty of two counts of first- degree murder for killing his wife and stepson with a hammer to death. Bins took a cab to Framingham police station in may 2006, telling them he bludgeoned his wife and stepson with a hammer . He handed the couple’s 5-month-old son, Phillip, to officers and said, “I’m sorry”. I think people have anger and try to take out on somebody else but bins knew he did something he regrets and that’s why he turn himself in. The factor is that he was truthful of what he did and he regrets it but what was this guy thinking of killing the wife and stepson that’s good they gave him consecutive life terms in prison.
The article that I read this morning was about the homicide detective that got sot to death in Tijuana yesterday. He was one of three men that were found dead yesterday in downtown Tijuana. The drug cartel are the ones being accused of the death of these men. The detective’s name was not released. He was found dead with 18 bullet casings on his body. He was killed in front of a private high school and about a block from a catholic’s seminary. The head of the Baja California attorney generals office in Tijuana said that the detective was shot with a AK-47 assault rifle. The general did not want to give out the names of the victims that were found dead inside a 2005 Hyundai.
I think that Tijuana is going down. The detective that got shot to death was actually my uncle. I am really scared because I don’t know who else in Tijuana that can also be from my family can get killed.
An interesting fact that I read was that a fourth victim was found dead inside his pickup truck in Playas de Tijuana.
Today in the Union Tribune I summerized an issue in Somalia, involving a 13 year old girl who said she had been raped she was stoned to death in Somalia after being accused of adultery by Islamic militants, a human rights group had said. Dozens of men stoned Aisha Ibrahim Duhulow. The Islamic militia in charge of Kismayo had accused the teenager of adultery after she reported three men had raped her. Evidence due to her physical appearance says she was 23 years old.

Today in my morning blog I read about 14 more deaths in Tijuana. Police officers in TJ are on high alert because of the drug cartels. The drug dealers are killing lots of detectives because the detectives are finding out a lot of evidence. The first Baja California state agent , Marco Cardenas was killed about 8:30 a.m. yesterday while driving near the intersection of two major boulevards in eastern Tijuana. Shortly after 3p.m , Roberto Elizalde, a veteran agent who oversaw an office in the eastern Mariano Matamoros section was ambushed on a major thoroughfare as he left his shift About 6:30 a.m, four unidentified male victims were found in Mariano on the side of a dirt road near a community clinic attended by dental students this is such a big issue . They were maybe about 20 to 25 years young . Shortly after 5 p.m two more bodies were found dead inside a vehicle in a neighborhood west of downtown. Law enforcement officials summerized that most killings in recent weeks have been the result of battles among criminal groups seeking control of drug trafficking in the region.
What I read on today’s Union Tribune newspaper for November 5, 2008 was that gay couples rushes to marry on Election Day. Why’s that ? They’re getting married, on Election Day just incase Proposition 8 passes. The voice of one of the same sex couples Padilla, quoted, “Who knows what’s going to happen ? I don’t want to take any chances with my rights.” Yadira Padilla and Jessica Luna placed their cell phones on a lectern so family members could listen as they exchanged their vows on Election Day. Another couple got married on Election Day. Tom Hannegan and Donald Smith married on Election Day. They chose Election Day, because they wanted to be legally wed if Proposition 8 passes. The total marriages in the region were 27. While others don’t want to risk it. So far 52% people voted yes on Prop 8 while others voted 48% for no. I think people should vote no on Prop 8. Im not just saying that, because I got some gay friends, but I think individuals have the right to get married to whoever they want to. I know its not right, but like what they said, “equality for all”
Today in the union tribune I read about a man in a ski mask on a motorcycle who shuts down the freeway. The ISSUE was that He waved a flag U.S. flag and a handgun on the freeway overpass for about four hours yesterday morning , forcing a massive traffic shut down before he surrendered. Police said after dropping his weapon , Van tassel asked for a Barack Obama campaign sign, which authorities delivered to him using a bomb squared robot the Police had SUMMERIZE that the man attached the sign and the flag to overpass and walked backwards to officers who took him into custody. Luckily there was absolutely no shots fired what so ever. Police were continuing to investigate a duffel bag and the man’s car at the scene but they have no credible threats or EVIDENCE of any threats of explosives.
