Two university students gunned down Sunday were unintended bystanders and not the targets of the people who opened fire at the University of Central Arkansas, a prosecutor said Tuesday.
Student Chavares Block, 19, was shot on campus and died at a hospital, police said.
Police are still trying to figure out the motive for shooting, said Marcus Vaden, prosecuting attorney for the 20th Judicial District of Arkansas.
Vaden did not say whom the shooters were targeting.
Four suspects were arrested after the shooting and were charged with two counts of capital murder and one count of attempted murder Tuesday, a prosecutor said.
The suspects also were charged with eight counts of committing a terroristic act and other weapons charges in the Sunday night shooting, Vaden said.
A third man, who is not a student, was wounded in the shooting.
The suspects are Kawin Brockman, 19 of Conway; Kelsey Perry, 19 of Morrilton; Mario Toney, 20 of Little Rock; and Brandon Wade, 20, of Lake Village, the university said.
Police have released few details on the suspects other than saying that they are not university students.

The article I read this morning was about the no child left behind goals. The federal government are pressuring high schools all around the country to cut drop out rate. The nation’s dropout rate is one in four students. Schools as well as states must now track the graduation rates. They are also required to lift the graduation rates for all students. In this country today, half of our students graduate late from high school. Even though a lot of schools have a high school graduation rate they still have a low rate for black or Latino students and or even for students with disabilities. The new rules are an attempt to extend the No Child Left Behind education law to the high school grades.
I believe that the high schools should try to make an effort to help out students out in there work if they want to help them graduate. A lot of the students that drop out do it because they think school is to hard or they just don’t get enough ideas about what happens after you graduate. I hope that high schools do something to help out students in there grades and all so that they can graduate on time.
An interesting fact that I read was that California’s graduation rate is 67.7% with a goal of 79.5%, the dropout rate is 24.2%.

Today I read about a person who took photos from his cell phone and brings arrest of suspect. San Diego police got an unexpected clue after a bank holdup yesterday when a man showed them a photo he had snapped of the suspects license plate. Officers headed toward the registered car owners house found the car and arrested the driver. A man had used his cell phone camera to photograph the license plate of a car parked illegally in an unusual place near union bank of California. A short time later a robber used a demand note to hold up the bank police were called about 2:30 pm.
Interesting Facts- While they were investigating the witness asked officers if they thought this photo might be of help.
My Opinion- The STRATEGY that the witness used was an ALTERNATIVE idea to catch the robber. He had PREVIOUS thoughts.

In today’s paper I have read that their was a story about a 8 year old boy in Boston who had killed himself. What had happened was that he was firing a machine-gun and the recoil of the gun had came back towards him and the gun shot him in the head. What they are trying to do now is try to get at the gun fair for letting a 8 year old boy hold a machine-gun. another story in the union tribune was that there was a fatal shooting at a college in Conway, Arkansas. Four men were charged yesterday with capital murder and other felonies. Their were two students and the wounding of a third person near the college dorms. Each defendant was either going to get the death penalty or a life sentence.

Today in my morning blog I read about troops going to sought for Afghanistan. The U.S. commanders believe they need about 20,000 additional troops to battle a growing Taliban insurgency, as demands mount for supports forces such as helicopter units. The troops request the broader struggles the U.S. military faces in the Afghanistan war. Fighting has intensified particularly in the country’s eastern region. A lot of deaths are getting higher than in any other year since the conflict began in 2001.All of the 20,000 troops were beginning to equal the total number of foreign troops stationed in Afghanistan in 2003. About 32,000 U.S troops serve in Afghanistan now.

Today in the union tribune, I read that Jennifer Hudson’s mom and nephew was found shot to death in their home in Illinois. William Balfour is the prime suspect in these killings. The reason being is because he is Julian King’s stepfather. Balfour is now in state custody for a parole violation. He spent nearly seven years in prison for attempted murder, carjacking and possession of a stolen vehicle and was released in May of this year.
I think that this is a big shocker in Hollywood because this is Jennifer Hudson’s family. I think that I sucks to be her because her mom was killed and her little nephew.

Today I read about in the union tribune how the gap between wealthy and poor is growing wider. Economic inequality is growing in the worlds richest countries, particularly in the United States, Jeopardizing the American Dream of social mobility just as the world tilts toward recession. The gap between rich and poor has widened over the past 20 years in nearly all the countries studied, even as trade and technological advances have spurred rapid growth in their economies. The FACTOR of all this may be job losses and home skyrocketing and many of these countries facing recession. No VOICE knows what I the solution to all these problems. I wonder if the next president has a good PLOT.
Reflection- I think this is true and I think this world is going to be survival of the fittest.
