Michigan girl who poisoned her grandmother with morphine has been sentenced to life in prison with a chance for parole in 20 years. Kristina Adkins cried as she apologized for the murder during Friday's sentencing. Adkins was only 13 in 2006, when 53-year-old Virginia Bentley was poisoned. She could have placed her in a juvenile facility until age 21. Adkins pleaded guilty to second-degree murder on October 10. Her attorney claims Adkins was mistreated by Bentley. Court administrator David Stanifer says the allegations did not persuade the judge to change the sentence.
I think this girl should be punished to the fullest consent. Why would you kill your own grandma. I think she shouldn’t get parole likes its going to matter their not going to let her out of jail. And she was only 13 when this happened. Sources say she is now 16 and is serving time in her local juvenile detention center.
Today what I read in the Union Tribune was about a kid being shot for trick-or-treating. Quentin Patrick, 22, is accused of killing T.J. Darrisaw on Friday night. T.J. 9-yearold brother, Ahmadre Darrisaw, and their father, and their father Freddie Grinnell were wounded they were released after being treated at a hospital. The boy's mother stayed in a car near by, Patrick emptied his AK-47 shooting at least 29 times after hearing the knock, bullets going through walls and windows. Patrick though he was being gun down because he has been robbed and shot the past year. T.J. suffered multiple wounds including one in the head. Police say they also charged a 19-year-old in Patrick's home. Ericka Patrice Pee, with obstruction of justice when she was trying to run away after the shooting with $7,500in cash. I think he should get dead penalty for some ridiculous thinking, he was frightened because somebody was going to robe him or shoot him how come he didn’t check he was at the door. People like him are no good for the community they don’t got their mind straight thats my point of view killing a 12 –year-old king and wounding 2 more.
In today’s paper I had read that their was a killing of a twelve year old boy on Halloween. The kid was just trick-or-treating with his family and him and his younger nine-year old brother walked up to the door and knocked. The man inside had fired 29 rounds through the front door of his house. Multiple shots wounded the kid and a fatal shot to the head. The owner of the house thought that he was being robbed again. He had told the police that he had been robbed within the last year and that that’s what the robber had done. Knocked on the door and robbed the house. I think its really ridiculous because who just fires randomly through their front door? At least man up and see who it is before firing
Today in the San Diego Union Tribune I SUMMERIZED an ISSUE in Somalia, involving a 13 year old girl who said she had been raped she was stoned to death in Somalia after being accused of adultery by Islamic militants, a human rights group had said. Dozens of men stoned Aisha Ibrahim Duhulow. The Islamic militia in charge of Kismayo had accused the teenager of adultery after she reported three men had raped her. EVIDENCE due to her physical appearance says she was 23 years old. I think that is really sad that things like that still happen in other countries
Today I read about in the union tribune about how, President Obama began this process last night, in his victory speech, when he noted that restoring the country's health might take more than a term. In the next few weeks, he should go well beyond this. His trying to make a difference like he said he would. He wants to keep his word, when he made that speech. The first day he started what he wanted to do in the beginning. *I think this could be good and make a big difference. I think people should give him a chance cause he looks like he would make a different to this world. Like he said he would, so he wouldn’t make the mistakes that the other presidents made. Reflection- I think he is going to have a pretty good victory speech because I know he is going to win.
A new study found out that some TV programs are a link to early teen pregnancies. Television shows that features a lot of flirting, necking, discussion of sex, and sex scenes most likely lead for some teens to get pregnant. The new study stated that the more teens watch television with sexual content are more likely to get involved in teen pregnancy. Anita Chandra, a behavioral scientist at the nonpartisan Rand Corp said, “ Watching this kind of sexual content on television is a powerful factor in increasing the likelihood of a teen pregnancy, After decades of the decline of teen pregnancy its starting to rise up again. This is becoming more of a problem this generation. Another thing that Chandra said was, “ Sexual content on television has doubled in the last few years, especially during the period of our research.” There are shows that educates abstinence on sex, but there are no evidence that those programs work. Teens get sexually active after watching something with sexual content, because I think they cant control their hormones. I think that sex education doesn’t really work, but it keeps them aware of the sexually transmitted disease that they might encounter.
Today In my current events I read about the 10 bodys they have found in TJ. The drug related violence continued ,where the five killings were found yesterday which raised the weekend toll to 10. The attorney in the general office said That three bodies were found wrapped in the white blankets about 10p.m on Saturday. The two victims a man and a women appered to be 35 to 40 years old were found on cantera strret in the beach community of Playas de Tijuana . There heads were found in a plastic bag .
