My expectations before going was that I though it was going to suck but it was alright. I'm not going to lie but the food was the best part of the while trip because we saw some buy with a foot long and I was laughing so hard it was to funny. I though the plumbing one was most appealing because how much money you could make and how many houses that need plumbing, its crazy. I can’t compare it to south bay tech because we have nothing in common with job corp. except finishing your credits the same way. I thought it smelled. I wouldn’t live there because even with a lock on your stuff I still you could get jacked for even the slightest mess up. I didn’t like any of the rules because if I were to go there I would feel trapped because I need freedom. I think they should improve the rules and cut back the class time because 4 o clock is to late.
You should act mature. No it is not hard to behave in an appropriate way. I sill behave the same way I did on this field trip because I thought I acted o.k. I didn’t notice anyone on the field trip that acted in bad behavior.
In my opinion on job corps I think that its worthless unless you don’t have a home because it seems as if you were locked up. I didn’t really like it but once again that’s my opinion.
I enjoyed the food and the ride other than that not much. I saw many kids adults with children that want to do something in life if I had to choose what trade would I choose? I'd say auto mechanic because it would help me save money on people trying to fix my car that way I can do it myself. The classes are weird it is way different from our school. I also didn’t like the fact that you cant come out without permission I think it should be more free that’s how job corps can improve and be a little cleaner would also help.
You should act mature well behaved witch I think we all did, I don’t think it was hard because we were all paying attention nobody was trying to be the class clown. I think we can behave well for other fieldtrips to.
I learned that staying in school is very important that way you wont end up at job corps.
My expectations before going to Job Corps was it was going to more new and less broken down. What I enjoyed the most was the lunch. My visit was good. I saw the whole campus and the cafeteria I did not feel anything the trade that I thought was most interesting was welding. My impressions of the classes there was that they would probably be boring. I think that our school is better than there school. What I thought about there living conditions was that it was like juvenile hall except you have windows there because there is always people watching you there and the rooms are small and you got roommates. I did not like any of the rules there because you always have a curfew. I think they should improve on there program at Job Corps by being less strict and making new rooms.
When I am out on a fieldtrip I should act good and not play around. It was not hard to behave in appropriate behavior. I would behave the same way next time. My behavior on the fieldtrip was good. There was no inappropriate behaviors that I noticed from me or anyone else. Yes I do think that this group can behave well and be trusted to go on other fieldtrips.
I think that Job Corps was not a good school or a good program. My suggestions are that they should be less strict and give more money to you each week. I also think they should change the rooms. What I learned from this experience is that I don’t want to go to Job Corps and would not recommend it to anyone.
My expectations before going to job corps was to go and see how its like to go to a school where they teach you how to work in the career you want to do. Honestly the only thing I enjoyed from the trip was the food. I saw a lot of teenagers there who looked like they where actually interested in doing there work. I really did not have an impressions except that you lowest grade if a C. you can not receive an F there. Even if you don’t do the work you still get credit for whatever class it is that you didn’t do. My opinion on trying to compare job corps with our school is impossible. I believe our school is way better than job corps. They try to make it seem like its nice and all but really I did not like it one bit. The living conditions seems awful. I think that all there rules are not fair. I didn’t like none of them. They need to improve on giving the kids at least a little bit more freedom. My behavior I believe was great like always. I believe that I know how to act on a fieldtrip. Everybody else in the group acted on there best behavior also. I think that job corps is the best place for teenagers that either don’t like school get kicked out of there house or that either like the life of how they live inside a jail.
My expectations before going was going to be a very good school and very strict school. What I enjoyed through the whole visit was the cafeteria and the food. My visit was alright I wanted to see more jobs but we didn't and I learned that they fallow u for 10 months after you leave there and help u to get a job. The trade that was most interesting to me was the plumbing and the electricians. The class rooms of the trades were pretty cool because for each cretin trade had its own little facility. The living conditions were alright it wasn’t the best but it could do. I like all their rules because they weren't all that strict. They should improve their program by adding D and F to their grading system. We should act like yesterday on every field trip we go on. I don’t think there was any inappropriate behavior on the trip. I think this group can be trusted on future field trips. I learnd that anyone can basically go to job corps even if you do drugs. I also learns that are grading system is better because we have to try harder.
My expectations before going was that job corps was about students that want to do better in life so they go to job corps because they help student and young adults a lot. They actually pay you to go their, they provide dome for you and food what ever you need and your not paying a single dime I think that pretty cool.
The most things I enjoyed at job corps was seeing how their everyday schedule is. Their busy at all times until 4:00 and then you can do whatever you want until 9:45. I like it, job corps is pretty organized if I may say so myself its pretty laid back but the most thing they want you to do is too succeed in life. I think that’s pretty cool.
My visit to job corps was cool I liked it, I seen a lot of kids that want to succeed in life and have a good job. I learned that if you set your mind to something and continue with it u may succeed in life you just have to set your mind to it follow you own expectations.
The most interesting trade to me was waling, u have to use a lot of tools and be ready to work.
My impression to the classes at job corp. was that they were pretty small but hey if your there just to get you work done and succeed in life then that’s just fine, it doesn’t matter about your impression of the class.
Job corps and JCCS is similar because their all about you getting your work done, and if you need help they will help you out in order to graduate and help you succeed in life.
The living conditions I mean their okay but not all that to me jus like the part were everyone can kick it and watch TV. is like the coolest spot but the rooms are to small and the beds are also, my room is a little bit bigger and they only have two showers for 30 girls and I like to take long showers so I think I would try and live on campus and see how it works out but most likely I would live at my house.
There rules were pretty laid back but some of the rules I didn’t like were that we have to go to sleep at 11:00 I mean I will still be up I won’t even be tired, otherwise it’s pretty laid back. Something’s that job corps need to improve on is the domes it need more stuff in it and it needs to be super clean I hate living in a dirty environment, another thing is that they should think about having dances and prom for the students so they can have fun yea boi.
Before going to Job Corp I expected and I got a grade “A” school with excellent opportunities for who do not come from a family with a lot of money. I really enjoyed the food service along with the hands on classes. To myself this chance to see a school as great as this one was exciting along with educational. For me the most interesting trade was the classes for body shop and welding. I think there school is much more better just because of all the different job opportunities they offer. I think the living conditions are really dumb because they do not allow men and woman in the same dorm. Think that sort of thing should be up to the students themselves. I liked the rule that u could leave campus after done with studies. The rule I didn’t like was the boys and girl separation. I think Job Corps should allow the students to be more independent.
While on a fieldtrip you should behave better the if you were still in the class room. I don’t think it is very hard to behave. On the next fieldtrip I will do the same thing I did in this one stand there and keep me mouth shut. I believe I did not do anything wrong because I was not opening my mouth to be a “smart ass” and I did not fight anyone and I did everything the teacher asked me to do. I did not notice anyone else doing anything wrong in fact I thought we did a pretty good job.
My final thoughts I have actually considered going there. This is a good opportunity to get my career started. The welding industry is short of welders and this is a good job with plenty of pay and opportunity.
Before going I was expecting something a little bit different starting of with the rooms they sleep in. but what I did enjoy the most was the food because it was way better than the one that we eat hear. What was interesting to me was that one of the teachers there at job corps told us that they all get c’s or higher and that they cant fail there. And about the living conditions I thought that there hall way and there doors look like juvenile hall. One of the rules that I didn’t like was that the boys and the girls don’t get to sleep in the same dorm, and the rule that I did like was that you can leave home on the weekends. What I think that they should improve on there job corps program is that they should make the rooms look more like a home.
when im on a fieldtrip I should be with the group and not wonder of to see what's next door or something. What's hard to behave in appropriate behavior is that if something is funny i cant hold it in and ill start laughing and sometimes that’s not a appropriate behavior. The way that we started misbehaving was that more at the end a lot of the students including me started to untuck there shirts. A good way that we could change our behavior is that they should not think that just because we weren't seeing people or students no more that its ok to loosen up and untuck our shirts.
Before leaving I wasn’t really sure about what it was going to be about so I really wasn’t expecting anything. To be honest the thing I enjoyed most was having lunch, but I also liked how the classes were hands on kind of like collage. The visit was pretty cool, after a presentation it is pretty cool to go check things out for yourself. What I saw was pretty interesting it was like a high school, except there was a lot of different people with a lot of different ages, it kind of felt like it was an adult school. I felt kind of weird, the vibe I got from that school wasn’t a good one I don’t think I would want to attend that school. The trade that I thought that was more interesting trade that I saw because we didn’t get to go in was mechanics I’m really interested in learning how to fix cars. I also liked plumbing. The impressions that I had from that school was that it was all “hands on” work and that there is no such thing as D’s or F’s. I thought the living conditions were weird. I really didn’t like any of the rules except for the one that you could go home on the weekends. It seemed like they had too many up tight rules. I don’t have any suggestions in improving their program.
A way students should act when they are on a field trip is with respect, towards everyone. During the field trip I think I behaved properly, it was appropriate. Yes, I think this group could behave properly and I think this group can be trusted.
